The Red Devils recorded a 2-0 win over an obdurate Huddersfield Town side who regularly plonked nine men behind the ball and hoped for the best. As a relieved Jose Mourinho said afterwards, "We had to break down the Berlin wall organised so well by David Wagner."
It was an approach which stifled Sanchez in particular, although he still managed to be United’s outstanding player in a goalless first half.
