Modric and Kroos return to training

There was good news for Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane as his favoured midfield pairing of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric returned to full training on Sunday.
With just 48 hours to go until they face Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their Champions League duel, Zidane must decide whether they will be fit to play.
Both have been sidelined for three weeks, Modric with a grade I strain to his thigh and Kroos with a knee sprain suffered in the first leg.
The duo could come into Zidane's thinking to start at the Parc des Princes.

Man Utd formulate £14m De Gea salary offer to deny Real Madrid star goalkeeper

The Spain No.1 came close to leaving Old Trafford in 2015 and there are fears the move could materialise this summer

When David de Gea somehow kept out Luis Muriel's header shortly before half-time in Manchester United's Champions League visit to Sevilla last week, it was a familiar collective sigh of relief which was heard on the away terraces.

Not only had he done similar moments earlier to deny Steven N'Zonzi, but the Spaniard has become recognised as the world's best goalkeeper on the back of countless such interventions over the past five years.
Having struggled during his early months at Old Trafford, De Gea has been United's most consistent player since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson brought about greater pressure on the Red Devils' goalmouth on a weekly basis. The 27-year-old won the club's Player of the Year award in 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16, prompting Jose Mourinho to announce shortly after his arrival at the club in 2016: "If season after season the goalkeeper is Player of the Season, it means that something is wrong. Hopefully he's not player of the season this season but hopefully he keeps making important saves for us."
Action Coin
But De Gea continues to stand out, and his form has continued to catch the eye of Real Madrid. The European champions attempted to sign the ex-Atletico Madrid star from United in 2015, only to be foiled by a matter of minutes, and there is a real belief that they could launch another bid for him this summer.
And, with former United star Paul Scholes admitting to Goal  that he can understand if De Gea wants to leave for the Spanish capital , many of the club's fans are bracing themselves for a nerve-shredding summer as they look to hold on to the man Gary Neville claims is "United's only world-class player" .
Below, Goal looks at the situation and how it could play out...

Marcelo: I believe that Neymar will play for Real one day

It may well be an attempt to unsettle Paris Saint-Germain ahead of Wednesday's monumental Champions League tie between the two clubs, however Marcelo has made clear that he believes Neymar will play for Real Madrid one day.
Neymar has led the Parisian club this term and Unai Emery's charges arrive in the Spanish capital as the favourites to win the Champions League.
"I think Neymar will play for Real Madrid one day," Marcelo explained in an interview with Esporte Interativo.
"Would Neymar fit at Real Madrid? He would fit, for sure.
"It would be great if he came to Real Madrid.
"In my opinion the great players have to play at this club."
Real Madrid pursued the Brazilian in the past, before he ended up at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona fail to score in a home LaLiga game for the first time in 15 months

Getafe's Vicente Guaita earned a clean sheet at the Camp Nou on Sunday, something no goalkeeper had managed in a league match since Carlos Kameni did so when , Malaga drew 0:0 there on November 19, 2016.
They've scored in every home LaLiga game since, although they did also play out a 0-0 draw when Juventus visited in last season's Champions League.
This is also not the first time Barcelona have been shut out at home to Getafe, with the capital city side also drawing 0-0 when they made the trip to Catalonia in the 2007/08 season.

Koke makes his 350th appearance for Atletico Madrid

Koke has enjoyed a quite wonderful career with Atletico Madrid and, at just 26 years of age, he has now made 350 appearances for Los Rojiblancos, with the milestone being reached against Malaga on Saturday afternoon.
The Spanish midfielder even ended the match wearing the captain's armband and he now sits as in 14th place in the club's all-time appearances list.
At such a young age there is a lot of time for him to surpass those ahead of him.
It seems it's now only a matter of time before he moves past Adelardo.

Zidane: I know who will play against PSG on Wednesday

Real Madrid renew their quest to win a third successive Champions League with Wednesday's clash with Paris Saint-Germain and Zinedine Zidane has made clear that he knows who he will play.
PSG's visit to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday is the first leg of a tie which includes two of the pre-tournament favourites, yet one will be eliminated at the very first knockout hurdle.
"I know who will play on Wednesday," he admitted in the press conference after his side smashed Real Sociedad 5-2 on Saturday evening.
"We're all prepared and that's the most important thing.
"We need to think about Wednesday, it's a major challenge for everyone."
Despite such a comfortable victory over Real Sociedad, the second half performance from Los Blancos saw a notable drop in quality, something that the former Juventus player noticed.
"We have to correct certain things," he said.
"We had problems in the second half, but I will choose to focus on the positives.
"We scored five goals and enjoyed a very bright start.
"Wednesday is another game."
Karim Benzema once again failed to find the net, despite Los Blancos' free-flowing performance in the final third, which prompted yet more derisory whistles from sections of the home crowd.
However, the striker retains the support of his coach.
"I don't know why people do this," Zidane wondered.
"Obviously people can do what they want and he has had chances, but the important thing for him is to focus on the next game.
"This poor streak will end."
The clash with PSG kicks off at 20:45 CET on Wednesday evening.

Ronaldo and Real Madrid warm up in time for PSG and the Champions League

The Portuguese hit a hat-trick for Los Blancos in an excellent 5-2 win over Real Sociedad, a timely return to form ahead of Wednesday's European exam
"Thank you fans. On Wednesday night, the king of Europe is back." That was the message from the stadium announcer on the loudspeaker after Real Madrid thrashed Real Sociedad 5-2 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday evening. Reason to believe again, perhaps, for those supporters.
Real Madrid are a different beast in the European Cup and so too is Cristiano Ronaldo. Los Blancos have won the continental competition 12 times in their history and the Portuguese has played his part in the last three.
Last season, Ronaldo was struggling for goals in the Champions League, but hit 10 from the quarter-finals onwards, including two in the final against Juventus, as Madrid claimed La Duodécima in Cardiff

Ronaldo: I can remain 'at the highest level for years to come'

The Portugal and Real Madrid superstar turned 33 on Monday but he is not yet thinking about the end of his playing career
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is confident he can keep going "for years to come" at the elite level of football.
The Portugal captain, who turned 33 on Monday, has shown signs of a dramatic decline in his form this season for the first time in his glittering career.
The forward has seen his La Liga goal total drop from 49 in 2014-15, to 35, then 25 last season and has only scored eight goals in 17 La Liga matches in 2017-18, four of which have come in Madrid's last two matches.
