MESUT OZIL reportedly snubbed a £435,000-a-week offer from China before signing his new Arsenal contract.
Sport Bild claims the German, 29, was targeted by mega-spenders Guangzhou Evergrande this month.
They made an audacious offer to bring Ozil to the Far East this month, with the wages amounting to around £22m-per-year.
But the report adds that Ozil had no intention of moving to China, and he instead opted to remain at Arsenal because he was feeling comfortable in London.
The former Real Madrid ace penned a three-and-a-half year extension today, becoming the club’s record earner on £350k-a-week.
And the news was greeted warmly by Arsenal fans still reeling at Alexis Sanchez’s decision to join Manchester United.
